WonderWaves is both an installation and a choreographic work at the intersection of dance, sculpture, and sound. Inspired by the formats of social dance floors and passing on as a speculative practice, the work explores how embodied experiences emerge, are shared, and transform over time.
The installation consists of a fragmented wooden floor and three suspended speaker elements that together form a dance floor, a sculpture, and a place for visitors to sit. Over the course of six months, the space is repeatedly activated by dancers Viktor Fröjd and Jon Bugge Mariussen, sound artist Elize Arvefjord and musician Olof Misgeld.

From the beat that emerges between the dancers’ bodies, sound and movement are repeated, transformed, and interwoven. A collective and rhythmic work in which forms emerge, shift, and dissolve, while meanings drift apart and seep across genres.
As a visitor to WonderWaves, you become part of the work: welcome to step onto the floor, sit down, listen, or simply pass through – surrounded by the traces of dancing bodies and alongside others.
In Anna Öberg’s artistic practice, rhythm becomes an exploration of bodily togetherness – deeply rooted in folk tradition while at the same time shaped by a strongly experimental approach.

WonderWaves takes as its starting point the practice developed for Landscapes (2025).
Premiere @ Accelerator, Stockholm Sept 12th 2026 as part of the group exhibition The Owl of Minerva 12 Sept - 14 Feb 2027.
In addition to the permanent installation, the live version of the work will be presented between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM on selected dates 2026-2027:
